Given that the list admin, Ted, just dealt with this situation last week, I’m guessing it won’t take long to fix now that the holiday weekend is over.
I guess this virus stuff has taken it down again. The site is offline and I haven’t seen a note since 8/31.
No idea, I’m afraid. I don’t actually remember who the UA list admin was — it’s been running fine for years now without intervention. I fear our complacency may have doomed us all!
Dunno, as it depends on the software we use to run the site getting upgraded. For now, you can always email me replacement text and I’ll fix your submission.
You’re right. I hadn’t heard the news myself but John Nephew filled me in.
If you’re going to release it on the net for free, no problem. Write what you like and post it here. If you have any interest in making money from it, online or in print, you need to make up your own stuff and avoid UA’s magick schools, avatars, GMCs, cabals, etc.
Go to the list’s home page at:
http://lists.uchicago.edu/mailman/listinfo/ua
Try entering your email address and whatever you think your password might have been. Then you can unsubscribe properly, or check the settings to see if you set it for don’t-deliver-for-now when you were moving, etc.
If you can’t guess your password, put your email address in the field at the very bottom of the page and see what happens.
I’m not sure what my mailserver’s file size cutoff is. I’d suggest breaking them into zip archives of no more than about 3MB each. Try one like that and we’ll see if it works, then do the rest.
1. There’s no way to edit your posts at present, though I’d like to make that possible at some point.
2. There isn’t an upload function. For the Downloads section, you just store the files on your system and provide a link to them. Or you can send the files to me via email, I’ll put them on the site, and I’ll send you the links so you can post the description.
3. Sure thing!
Yes, they work fine. See the notes at the back of UA2 about what contents have been superceded by stuff in UA2.
The second book is a big cross-country campaign that prominently features Mak Attax, along with about everybody else under the sun. Greg Stolze is the author.
The next book is Break Today. You can read about it now on the news page!
For some UA sourcebooks, we do an open submission call where anyone can submit material. The next time that happens, anyone is welcome to submit work that they’ve already posted to this site (or any other). Internet publication does not prohibit submitting that work to a UA sourcebook.
On the downside, it’s not likely to happen anytime soon. We have the next two books in hand already, and our schedule only calls for a couple books a year. I’d encourage everyone to put their energy into writing stuff for this site, and should we get to another sourcebook project that suits an open submission call, you’ll all be welcome to submit your stuff then.
