De la Rocha MUST be channeling the demagogue….nothing can enrage me like his voice…seriously
Think about using the TRIAD of hong kong…the triad can be quite fascinating for a series of reasons…first of all it has control over practically EVERYTHING (including the famous movie industry) it works mostly in light and, like the Yakuza, is even locally respected…then comes the mystik part:The triad was born when massonic sects arrived with the english…even today the triad is invluenced by peculiar rituals and numerologic constructs (i believe that the lowest position is 48 and the highest 148…but not quite sure)that means that the triad must have connections with the underground….and then you can base the campaign in hong kong
Chow yun fat for dinner!!!
MAK ATTAK!!!!
MAK ATTAK!!!!!!!
Now with extra cancer for your snacking needs
A month ago i found a smashed car radio in the street…its beautiful but completely useless…unless you roleplay
Its going to become a prop very soon…as some sort of “thing”
Maybe the battery that keeps earth revolving …or an ancient god summoned by bums in alleyways…a transdimensional device (banal)…or a physical manifestation of a PC’s guilt…or maybe a tiny spaceship (remember that twilight zone episode??) searching for intelligent life but finding only humanity…or maybe “that thing that men are not prepared to comprehend”…or just a wrecked car radio to smash on enemies heads..
My props always tend to be surreal and degenerate, mostly because my roleplaying is surreal and degenerate
But i also use the same old cigarettes, matches, toy guns (luckily in italy we can bring toy firearms to live games as well since police arent that “gun happy”…except during the G8 of course..)”wierd” photographs and capes…(actually nobody knows what to do with these capes since we don’t play vampire or fantasy anymore…but my players bring them all the same…to hide hash)
Damn thats a good idea Tynes!!!
And an oportunity to truly integrate ones own cultural stereotypes..
I could have the PC’s as japanese tourists visiting milan…taking photographs of the Duomo, getting ripped off at restaurants and trying to figure what fun young italian’s can feel in yelling “Yakuza!! Scappate!!!” and running away laughing (actually i’m probably the only person who does this…but it is inebriating i assure you..)
The japanese could me mancers about to gain a major charge as soon as they take their 7,777th photograph of their friends smiling idiotically and making peace signs for absolutely no good reason
On a more serious note (as if talking about roleplaying games can be taken seriously) i do like this idea and its pretty easy to integrate in my game (since the characters are all American to start with) all i have to do is find an excuse for them going to Italy…the eternal search for good food??
It does depend on the game one plays and the atmosphere he likes to reproduce…i personally only use Italy (my homeland) for Kult…in particular Turin, which is a mystical city for excellence…i have used Venice as backround for “dark ages” but as for modern “vampire” i prefer to use the Gothique of Prague
Then of course come UA…i use America for that..the games so american anyway…its so damn “in your face” that it feels out of place in anywhere else
As a general rule i try to avoid using places that i know well….i always base my settings in places where i do not live…and let my mind ravage through all possibility….
By the gods!!
Already UA 2?
It is already time???
From what i hear it must be something…very well, you may proceed but do try not surpass Kult in my heart most profound
