CriticalFaultWell see the thing you have here is plain. People keep saying ”accident” Like he didnt MEAN to crash into the median going 80. If he DID mean too…then thats that. I had a PC in a game i ran try and do something of the same mind set. Smoking 5 packs a day in hopes he would get cancer to bring his wife back from the grave. He didnt “accidentally” get cancer. He went out there and reached for the stars 😛
CriticalFaultYea, thats what i figured. My player of course thinks that rubbish as the rules doesn’t specifically say how long it should take and thus when he has the mojo it just appears. What is really funny is that hes perfectly understanding about weeks of repair time after his major creation had been damage by a Dermott death cult. All and all the game is coming to an end so i wont worry about it to much. Just seeing what other people said. So far Hotel and I and on the same page.
CriticalFaultWell we had a UA mush going for awhile but without interest the GMs gave up i’m afraid. I still have all the code on my machine at home…perhaps if a few good people were to come together it could finally be brought into the world.
CriticalFaultI paid $50 and its worth it. Really well written and as always with magick make up a paradox if your having trouble tossing him into a niche. Allow his twisted view to become the right one. I would just keep going with it, see what he believes he can do and allow him to do it once in awhile. The best way to keep a player enthralled is to leave mystery. Nothing sucks dry the imagination such as reading the entire book of a series based on keeping players in the dark. See make it something only you know!

CriticalFaultI could never really get into those play by posts or what not. Now a chat/IRC or if someone is feeling daring, even a teamspeak game. That I would be down for!

CriticalFaultMy rule of thumb is that the universe can’t be fooled. Magick is more or less the universe allowing people to do crazy stuff because they give up whatever it is to the universe. If they don’t do it legit then the universe doesn’t have to pay. So in your example above. If the risk wasn’t real (Just like the description in the book.) then the charge isn’t made. Think about what the sacrifice is suppose to be. Make sure its enough to you to change the world.

CriticalFaultThe simple answer above is perfect. Though I would like to share a bit more. What would be more likely to happen (because its more horrible this way) Steve feels hollow for a good long while. While his, buddy Bob feels unbeatable. Bob might have a few ways of spending Steve’s life. 1) When its Bob’s time Steve buys the farm instead. 2) Steve suddenly wakes up in an Alley way with no memories or possessions while Bob wakes up next to Steve’s beautiful wife and is treated exactly like shes always been married to Bob and etc, etc or 3rd and also my favorite. Steve feels no different and Bob is confused as well until Bob asks Steve to go get him a beer and Steve can’t help but obey and of course lastly and more boring in my opinion is Steve joins the quire invisible right there at the card table. So I ask you to think on it. What’s life exactly? But yes, they can collect on anything someone foolishly bets them. This is one of the reason why the Sleepers do what they do.
CriticalFaultWhich is a good point. I always tell my players after they have been shot or stabbed they need first aid or risk more damage. So then the gunshot will kill them in hours…or instantly. Perhaps bleed off a body point a minute until theres at least local pressure.
CriticalFaultI made a ruling last night that it was the highest of the two rolls if the person managed to roll under their skill and under my “I am as tough as I look” skill, very similiar to dodging. Still though…nearly half damage seems a wee bit extreme. anyone else have ideas for it?
CriticalFaultWell I am in the process of getting everything ready for player testing, though with my weeks vacation coming this Saturday i’ll be in a pinch to put up anything yet. But I’ve gotten a server with a static (or atleast sticky) address and I think i’ll atleast be ready for some tinkering around with by the end of the month. Please e-mail me if anyone is interested in helping out at all. I figured if I can get atleast some players in there, staff will come later and we can see if we have something worth keeping!.
