Listed in the AU 2nd book in the skills section it describes the ability to take some kind of damage resistance skill. How do these work? Unlike the dodge skill, it doesn’t seem to be described anywhere in the book! With my mush going up i know this is going to be a hot issue. Help please?

I made one up.
I think I wanted it to be an alternative to Dodge. Panzerskin requires a minimum of Body 50 since it represents the ability to shrug off fist blows.
Panzerskin (Body)
If you successfully roll Panzerskin, you take the lowest two dice from the Panzerskin roll and the H2H attack roll and combine those as the damage.
Panzerskin only works on H2H damage and it effects neither the damage modifier nor Firearms Damage.
I made a ruling last night that it was the highest of the two rolls if the person managed to roll under their skill and under my “I am as tough as I look” skill, very similiar to dodging. Still though…nearly half damage seems a wee bit extreme. anyone else have ideas for it?
If it’s just a human resilience to pain and duress you can express it in many ways:
– test, if succesful ignore the Pain MODs for some turns (1Turn for every 10 points in the roll)
– passive, the skill rating is added to BODY to calculate the total life points (it’s cheaper than Body, but has waaay less uses…and anyway…+30 or so HP means you are just one more shot away from death, definitely not unbalancing)
– passive, the skill rating works as a MOD on all Body tests (up to the usual +30) when resisting pain, fatigue, venom, etc… or when someone heals you (you are tough, you are easy to fix)
Just some random ideas.
