so, one of my players just became an entropomancer and is a high avatar of the fool. Now, if he is trying to gain sig via Russian roulette and the gun goes off and his avatar of the fool roll succeeds does he not get the charge? i just was not sure if his avatar will be giving him free lunches and was not sure how to handle this.
thanks
nick
My rule of thumb is that the universe can’t be fooled. Magick is more or less the universe allowing people to do crazy stuff because they give up whatever it is to the universe. If they don’t do it legit then the universe doesn’t have to pay. So in your example above. If the risk wasn’t real (Just like the description in the book.) then the charge isn’t made. Think about what the sacrifice is suppose to be. Make sure its enough to you to change the world.

No.
Unless the risk is genuine (and signifigant enough, remember the 10% rule of thumb) it’s not surrendering yourself to chance.
(This also covers using that signifigant formula spell which negates all damage from one source to save you from blowing your head off.)
If you *really* want to give him something to show for it, maybe minors could be appropriate.
