OK. So I’m planning to run a Teen Horror Unknown Armies one-shot game. Feedback welcomed:
THE FACADE: A group of teenage kids, all from wealthy backgrounds, hold a kegger/general party at a summer home, without the parents’ knowledge. The party organizer dies and a mysterious hooded figure is spied nearby. Attempts to leave are cut short by vans cutting off the roads. (Calling 911 works… to begin with… but doing so also reveals a horrid truth: The father of one of the children has been murdered in quite grizzly fashion.) The house is soon taken over, however, by a number of hooded figures who soon become monstrous and the teenagers try to break free. They may or may not discover the hidden rooms within the house that show that several of the children have parents deeply immersed in the Occult Underground. At several points, a mysterious ‘guardian angel’ seems to intervene, but not every time.
THE REALITY: These poor teenagers are ground zero in an Ascension attempt to become The Conquerer. The Conqueror revolves around destroying an opponent completely; not just killing them but (in ancient times) salting the earth, raping the woman, enslaving the children. In these days, it usually takes the form of destroying credit ratings, obliterating reputation — It’s associated heavily with the financial world. This particular guy is more of a classicist; he’s attempting to restore it to the older definition. He’s just murdered the current Godwalker (and thus has become the Godwalker himself in a closed assumption) and now is intending to Ascend by murdering these children, all of whom belong to a particularly powerful (both magically and in the ‘normal world) people — In grizzly, ritualistic fashion.
However, the magical backlash going on is basically shifting the house into an Otherspace. Things will become increasingly surreal as it goes on. This is being somewhat guided by The Conqueror, he has an agent in this Otherspace to help; the Guardian Angel.
I’m not quite sure how I’ll end this. I suspect I’ll simply wing that. 😀
Give me ideas, people!
