UA-ish music videos

    Anyone know of some UA themed music videos? I know sometimes I vid will get me into a real UA mood just be sheer freakiness. ‘Black Hole Sun’ by Soundgarden works well like this, makes me want to place an Otherspace right in the middle of suburbia.

    The Prodigy’s ‘Baby’s Got a Temper’ is weird enough to qualify. Three mysterious men in suits in an abandoned fairground, near-naked women milking cows, people in states of transcendant ecstacy after drinking the milk…all the right elements.

    I particularly like ‘Rabbit in your headlights’ by Radiohead, UNKLE and DJ Shadow. The sudden epiphany at the end, the transformation of a mere lunatic walking down the road to an adept of great power, it was all UA. Hell, the look in his eyes illustrated the ideas in UA better than anything else I’ve seen. Bloody brilliant.

    Any others come to mind, anyone?

    Dear God, pretty much any of the Aphex Twin videos. They all have that kind of surreal horror to them that says something’s off. They all prominantly feature Rick D. James’ face… which is horrifying.

    Malice Mavers the gothicky band from Japan should do the trick.

    They do some really freaky stuff in their videos. Think scenes of 18th century decadence mixed with people puking blood and you’ve got it down to a tee. 😀

    I caught a Sevendust video late one night that struck me as pretty UA.

    It involved a skinny, armless kid and his midget coach/ringman going to fight this beefy, butch woman in an alley. That’s about the best way I can describe it. It was rather bizarre.

    Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the song (I’m not a Sevendust fan) but I did think the video was pretty damn cool.
