I wonder when Atlas Games are going to write a location supplement for the United Kingdom/Europe for Unknown Armies, as I suspect that games set here will play differently as we’d probably have our own schools and stuff.
If Atlas Games do such a project, I hope they get us UK/European peeps to give it the once over to spot any glaring mistakes made about culture and stuff, or even get some of us locals to write it freelance. I for one would be up for it.
Sir Cabhán.
Yeah,
I hope so… As a German I know these problems with glaring mistakes. I always wonder why American (and English!) authors sometimes like to include some bits and pieces of German – and almost always get the articles wrong! Okay, having three articles (der, die, das) must be quite confusing for a speaker of English. But on the other hand, one quick glance in a dictionary would set it right. And I am not talking about fan-productions but “real” books. What the hell do they have editors for?
I know that is not what you mean, but it is a common pisstake among Germans. “Ah, look at them, they did it again!” It appears so, well, unprofessional.
cheers,
Carsten
I’ve been thinking about putting a UK sourcebook together for some time – quite a lot of the schools and avatars I’ve submitted to this site were sort of written with that in mind. So far, in the style of the 2nd ed rulebook, I have an overview, a history of British occultism and a What You Hear category, as well as a heap of cabal ideas and bits of adventures.
I’d be keen. I dallied a bit with a UK, French, German campaign idea.
Chris.
I can really recommend a magazine called The Black Seal for UK-based horror gaming (its a DG/Cthulhu magazine) – it gets the tone right for games in the UK so much more than any other publication. Anyone publishing something abut the UK shoudl take a leaf out of their book… (or magazine – sorry pun unintentional…)

You got a URL to their web site voidstate? I would be inteested in finding out more about that mag.
Simon, my web URL is http://www.geocities.com/pbrennan42 and I have some of my rumours posted up there as web pages and as downloadable PDFs. Take a look…
Well I am definately interested in having a UAUK Web Ring, if anyone knows how to set one up with a nice graphic and stuff.
Sir Cabhán.
Sir Cabhán,
The web address is http://www.theblackseal.org/ – there isn’t a great deal on their site though.
They do have a forum on Yog-Sothoth.com where the editors seem to answer pretty quickly.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
Read it, seen the six-part TV Series, still have the book, et al.
Yes, Neverwhere lends itself to UA fairly well despite it not being entirely anthrocentric. It also lends itself fairly well to changeling, btw…
I still think a UA UK web ring is the way to go. Now who knows how to set one up with a nice graphical links thingy to put on member sites?
Sir Cabhán.
