Just an idea I had on a thread over at RPG.Net Forums Tangency:
http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=95014
Here it is as I originally wrote it:
If an Urbanomancer is incarcerated in a prison within his own city, which also appears on a monopoly board
This will cause him to get out in x weeks through unusual legal means
Each time an Urbanomancer wants to use this ritual to get out of jail free, he has to smuggle in a new, sealed set of Chance cards from his own city’s Monopoly Game with him upon incarceration. This only works for actual jail time, and not remand.

Comments and suggestions welcome.
Sir Cabhán.
Sounds pretty cool to me.
I think it would be cool if he could get a Get Out Of Jail Free card and spend three sig charges on it and keep it in his wallet. When he gets arrested all he does is pull it out and show it to the police and they simply forget what they were doing, get back in their cars and leave.
A new card would have to be used each time. Meaning having to buy another Monopoly game.
Just my thoughts.
True, didn’t even think about Plutomancy. Maybe with the strong connection between them due to fact that Monopoly is all about getting money they get a better deal.
They don’t have to have a get out of jail free card from a monopoly game set for that city. But instead they have to have one from an ordinary game set. No city, no LOTR, no Star Wars sets etc.
Dammit now my mind is on other uses for something as mainstream in the human consciense as Monopoly and the way the adepts are exploiting it.
Well time to break out Word and start writing down ideas for my games.
Another way to alter the ritual is to get a Get Out of Jail Free card from a set that was actually used in a prison library and was stolen by a prisoner just before he was due to be released.
This means that should an Urbanomancer ever find himself in jail without a GOOJF card, he could at least set himself up for next time he is sent down.
Anyway, I am glad others are getting ideas from this one.
Sir Cabhán.
Hmm… Speaking of classic board games, there has got to be some occult use for Clue. It just feels so right, but I can’t figure out the specifics. Ideas?
Ooh… And maybe something about an Entropomancer using Chutes and Ladders?
Clue would be a neat way of finding out stuff
Kind of a form of divination to be used when trying to solve a murder – set up the game as usual while spending a significant charge, and the stuff in the black envelope should give you enough info to make an educated guess at who murdered whom and how / why.
Of course you would have to know of a murder first before you tried it.
BTW, we call it Cluedo over here in the UK. Dunno why though…
Sir Cabhán.
Real adepts go for boardgames for scrying over the old Oujia Board routine.
Can’t wait to drop that on my players.
Ooooh… That is nice. Let’s see, what other classics can you play with?
Want to track someone? Get a copy of Monopoly for your city, as above. Find or steal something they own, and then make it into the shape of one of the classic monopoly playing pieces. (It works better if the personal item was actually similar to the playing peice you’re duplicating – a part of thier yaht carved into the boat, or metal from thier car formed into the car.) Put the piece on Go, and blow some mojo. Then you start playing a game of Craps, moving the piece the distance of the die roll. When you either crap out or make your point, you see where the token is. Your target is closest to that location.
All I can come up with for others right now is Chutes and Ladders:
Chutes and Ladders – actually a method of determining deep kaballistic connections, if you just know how to read the numbers correctly. Either that or it’s good for getting the winning lottery numbers.
Any other good boardgames?
Chess:
By assigning two opposing “Factions” within a city to the two colours and playing against yourself while spending two significant charges, you can work out which side will be victorious in whatever dispute that is currently causing them to be at odds with each other.
This can also work with Checkers
Sir Cabhán.
You can arrange to have somebody kill another person. Given you have the right type of set up in a house with the right number of people inside… oh and a copy of the Clue boardgame.
Don’t play twister with an Entropomancer.
A few games of Dominoes can help an adept focus more. Afterwards everything is just so much more clearer to them and everything about their school seems so right.
