Hi, I have a question about UA 2nd ed. I’m thinking about getting the game, but something occured to me as I was reading the preview. As all stats are out of 100, and only a d100 is used, are there rules to compensate for beings whose stats are beyond 100? For example, a cyborg might have 300 Body, how would that work in the game? Are there rules in the book for this? thanks.
Personally I always found – as a gamemaster that when someone has some wierd ability that should take a score, like body, above 100 I allways demand that they buy a skill instead describing that ability.
(Like “Cyborg” a body skill where you can, if you succeed ignore damage or something)
Mostly because otherwise it might risk becoming a hunt for bigger and bigger stats.
rekyl.
Actually, there is very little need to increase Stats. Sure 150 Body can give one 150 Wounds, but the system is flexible enough to slide by without hassle.
I’d go with a “special skill” that allows rerolls of a failed Stat check rather than actually increase the stat.
In terms of combat, the semi-stat Body skill is rolled as well and, if successful, the damage is added ontop of the original roll.
Or if tThe vampire with 150 Body has 99 Body and a Immunity 50% skill.
The vamp rolls Immunity everytime he is damaged. Deduct the Immunity roll from the damage taken.
