The order of St. Cecil has a bit of help from beyond the veil.
St. Caecilian of Sargossa, the ancient martyr who founded the order of St. Cecil is still running the show, despite having died 1700 years ago. Periodically, parish priests will have visions, send a letter to the Vatican written in 4th century Latin, or less often Aramaic, and then forget the whole thing. These are messages, warnings and orders to the crusading priests. The upper echelons are split between a faction that trusts these messages, citing their past trustworthiness, and one that thinks these messages are the work of some demon. Some people have suggested that a demon, or a knowledgeable duke, might use the Order to weed out some competition.
