When the sea is storming, go with the wind and you’ll go far.
Power: significant
Cost: 1 significant charge
Effect: If the ritual is successful, the caster and a sea vessel he is on can travel to any point on the same ocean after 16 hours of stormy weather. (The distance and time traveled are roughly the same as the second channel of a Pilgrim avatar, but takes an entire ship).
Ritual Action: First, the caster’s ship must not be within sight of land or any other sea vessel, and cannot be using any modern navigation tools. Second, some degree of storm must be blowing. (Even a gusty drizzle counts, but the sky must be completely obscured by clouds.) Sail the Malestrom requires the caster be at the wheel/tiller for the entire duration of the storm (16 hours), keeping his stern to the wind the entire time.
Note: Due to the incredibly stupid requirement to face away from the wind (moving with the storm), this ritual requires a major Seamanship check to make sure the ship survives undamaged and no crewmen are lost at sea.
