Anoka, Minnesota is the “Halloween Capital of the World”, but put the symbolism of the holiday aside and think about the MONEY.
Much of our modern take on Halloween comes from Anoke, Minnesota. It billed itself as the “Halloween Capital of the World” and Halloween parades, parties, and “trick-or-treating” have some connection back to this city. So, why did it happen? Well, let me tell you — It’s because of the money. Halloween is the 2nd biggest commercial holiday in the USA. Billions are spent each year. Only Christmas generates more cash flow. Some Plutomancer in Minnesota was mucking around got all of this started up. More money spent means a bigger economy and what plutomancer doesn’t like that? Plus, money spent on an “occult” holiday has be packed with all kinds of mystical mojo. Particularly in the Halloween Capital of the World!
Even freakier is when you learn that Garrison Keiler – you know, the guy on public radio who’s got the boring show about small-town Minnesota – actually grew up in Anoka, Minnesota. Now, he’s talking about some idealized small-town called Lake Woebegon, making it into some sort of archtypal “little town that time forgot”. Is the mojo that they’re harvesting from Holloween charging an attempt to make a whole
