Flying Women in Space

Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman in space. Funny that her call sign name was “Seagull”.

On June 16th, 1963 the russian spacecraft Vostok 6 lifted of from Baikonur spaceport, on board Valentina Tereshkova, a 26 year old cosmonaut chosen for her parachuting skills. She was given the radio name “Chaika,” Russian for “seagull.”

After the flight, she left her career as a cosmonaut and married the russian cosmonaut Andrian Nikolayev. Rumors that the couple’s marriage to fellow cosmonaut Andrian Nikolayev in November 1963 was just for propaganda purposes have never been proven.

The following year the couple had their first and only child, Elena. She was the first child whose parents had both traveled in space.

Is it possible that Elena might be the next Godwalker of the Flying Woman?
