Insect Repellant

When pescky insects bother you here’s what you need to do.

Power: significant

Cost: 5 significant charges

Effect: Generates a blast that will kill all “insects” in a 1000 foot radius and establishes a insect-free zone. It’s the ulitmate bug zapper, one that will kill fry any type of insect that happens to be within the vicinity.

Ritual Action: In the area you want to establish the “no fly zone” gather 13 spieces of live insects. Swallow them one by one, no biting or chomping on them. After swallowing one, take a tiny sip of any insect repellent and repeat “zzzub zzzib”.

Upon swallowing the last insect, your zone will be established and all insects that are in the vicinity or enter this vicinity will perish.

    5 Significant charges?

An entropomancer is going to risk death 5 times so he doesn’t have to buy off?

Shouldn’t it really be a minor ritual, unless, perhaps, you’re fighting some kind of GIANT insect or are establishing a permanent no-insect area?

I think that by the wording of the ritual it is a permanent no-insect zone.

Correct me if I’m mistaken but magic school adepts can’t learn ritual magic.

Yes they can. Anybody can. It’s also easier for them to cast because they can spend the charges. Anyone can do it, but they have a lesser chance of it succeeding.

Right, now I remember. Anyone can cast minor rituals. But Adepts cannot perform Signif. Rituals. Thanks for helping get my head on straight. However your ritual looks like a Sig Ritual to me.

I think they can perform Significant Rituals, it’s just that only people who practice Authentic Thaumaturgy can cast them off the top of their heads and charge up off of them without losing all their other charges. But I could be wrong. Where does it say it?I honestly don’t recall it.
