Cliomancer dream? Don’t think so!

Philadelphia is where this nation was created. The town pratically hums with history. Start at Independence Hall and walk one block to the Liberty Bell. From there it’s half a block to the site of Ben Franklin’s home and old printing shop. From there you go down an alley, cross a street and walk half a block and you’re at Carpenter’s Hall. Then a quick two block walk to Old City Tavern. And this doesn’t even take into account Betsy Ross’s house. Significant charges within walking distance of each other.

Philadelphia should be crawling with Cliomancers, but it isn’t.

It was once. About 25 years ago they were practically at war with each other and would have been if they hadn’t come to an agreement. They wrote up a schedule that allowed them to take turns harvesting different locations for charges and it was enforced. Anyone who didn’t follow it was mind wiped and sent on his way. The peace held for over ten years…

Then someone broke the treaty, or so it seemed. When no one was punished the fighting started up again and this time they got vicious. No longer just targetting each other they targetted their enemies families, warping their memories and turning them against their loved ones. Then the cliomancers started getting picked off. Almost seemingly by chance. A car accident here, a mugging gone wrong there. The last cliomancer in the city was killed by a group of homeless people. That’s when a lot of us realized what happened. And then we started receiving messages, many different but all said the same thing:

Philadelphia is my town. Get out.

A powerful urbanomancer had moved in and nobody knew who he was. A few tried to ferret him out and ended up very bad off. He must have been building up charges for a while and he had them to spare. Those of us who remained got the point and left.

And that’s why there’s no occult underground in Philly. Oh, I hear there’s an avatar or two running around and a couple of Mak Attaxers but no major powers besides that unseen urbanomancer.

Just take my word for it. Stay out of Philly, especially if you’re a cliomancer.
