How Hungry is the Hippo?

Losing your marbles is part of the game

Tina Lovell had a bag of magic marbles.

She kept them in her little velvet “notaworry” pouch. The poor girl found them while dancing in California. It made her worries go away. Holding the bag, rolling the small white spheres just made everything seem ok.

She got restless. She wanted more out of life. Only thing left to do was pack up and leave. She went on a quest to bring them back “home”. She didn’t know why or where to go. She just followed the scribbles on the wall of any rest area stall.

Why did it have to bring her to Nebraska?

Tina needed help. It wasn’t like THAT ring in THAT movie. She didn’t have a clear destination.

She stumbled across America. She ended up lost and alone. Did Tina care? No. She wasn’t going to lose her marbles.

To make a long story short. She found a guy who knew a guy who in turn owed a guy. She gave a wallet to a man working at a haunted house. He gave her his brother’s classic board game.

Poor Tina lost it a day later to a pawn shop owner. She fell out of a car going 45. Her story ended a short while later. Something about glass in her mouth at some yoga class.

This is a piece of fiction ’cause it has no Crunchy Bits.

And if it is fiction, there’s too much “a guy, another guy, someone else, cars, accidents and yoga classes”.

How does this all relate? What are the marbles – and how do hippos fit in?

    Chris.

An enchanted game of Hungry Hungry Hippos, awesome. The question is, Perhaps, what does the green one represent?
