Rat magic – a very tiny school for urban adepts.
Like many, you love rats and keep them as your friends. You take it a little further than most, though.
You don’t just talk to rats – you listen to them. You hear their inquisitive whispers. You follow their paths through forgotten alleyways.
Rats are scavengers and survivors, better adapted to cities than the humans who built the cities. They are resourceful and adaptable.
Is it any wonder that you love them more than humankind?
Generate a minor charge: Watch the behavior of one or more rats for four hours.
Generate a significant or major charge: Myomancy can’t generate anything more powerful than a minor charge.
Taboo: Myomancers have a pretty easy taboo. You can never harm a rat, or ignore a rat in physical distress. Ignoring or maligning rats is fine.
Blast: Rats are naturally very clean creatures, but they’re closely associated with disease nonetheless. The Myomancy manifests as an immediate coughing plague, which eventually causes boils and blisters. To start the blast requires a touch, and is subject to all the limitations of the Epideromancy blast. However, once a day, you can make a blast at any range, even across the world, if you used a Myomancy blast successfully the day before. If you fail on a blast roll, you need to touch the victim to try again.
Symbolic Tension: Rats are always found whenever there are cities and civilizations, but they also symbolize the decline of civilization.

Minor Formulas
Little Prophet
1 minor charge
Only usable if you have a rat in your hand. Let it go and say aloud what you’d like to find. The rat will scurry toward it if it’s nearby. Essentially, this lets you use your Myomancy skill in place of a Search or Notice roll, but takes a few minutes as you follow the mouse around.
Scent
1 minor charge
You must be holding a rat to use this formula. Your sense of smell becomes incredibly good – good enough to replace your vision. Lasts until the rat leaves your hand.
Question of the Maze
2 minor charges
You must be holding a rat and staring into its eyes to use this formula. You can communicate telepathically with the rat as if it had human intelligence, and get it to perform complex tasks in exchange for a bit of food.
For an extra 3 minor charges, you can ask the rat a single question about the worst parts of a city – the slums, junkyards, alleys and abandoned spaces. The rat will magically know the answer, and only charge you a bit of food for the information.
Squeeze Through
3 minor charges
You can fit through any space you could stick your arm through. You travel about five feet in a single action by squeezing yourself through, but if there’s no space for you on the other side after five feet, you’re stuck.
The Black Plague
4 minor charges
This is the Myomancy minor blast. It does damage equal to the sum of the dice roll. It requires a touch to use the first time, but after that you can use it at any range once per day as long as you keep succeeding on your roll. Normal medical treatments will stop this blast.
Designers Notes
This school was designed to be weaker than most schools, and is intended for adept characters in a low-powered street-level game. It’s also designed to be a good, simple school for a learning player.
And I think you succeeded at that goal. I think I will use this if I ever get around to running my more D&D-styled fantasy UA game…

Funny thing is, Arcturus, I just wrote a different school based partly on Door from Neverwhere. (Cleidomancy includes a lot of tricks that Door does.)
