Shooting fear into the hearts of one’s enemies
THE SIGΣATIC
Power: Significant
Effects: The Sigmatic is a modified short-barrel Sig-Sauer that fires 9mm NATO Parabellum rounds.
The magazine feeds nine rounds plus one chambered. The gun handles live rounds as a normal pistol.
The gun works magickally if the magazine is loaded with spent shells and the user rolls his Firearms skill as if he was in a fire fight.
If the bogus-round is fired at somebody, they suffer a Violence stress check equal the Tens of the shooter’s Soul Stat. They just unconsciously react as if those dead shells were popping off lead slugs. The victims have to be within earshot for the gun’s magick to work.
People even start adding in details like muzzle flash, gunshots, ricocheting, cordite-smoke, and maybe others who were hit by the bullets. Sorting through the memories of being shot at by the ghost bullets might also have to suffer rank-4 Unnatural or Self stress checks depending on how the person reacted
Description: The Sig-Sauer pistol has no serial stamp. All these features suggest a non-descript pistol designed for Cold War spies to be used in short-range shoot-offs.
The Sigmatic’s grip has a stipple-grip with a coin-sized blank spot on both sides engraved with a large Sigma character: Σ.
The Sigmatic is not just rare it’s also new. It only went public in the European Occult Underground during a casino snatch-and-grab heist during the 24th December 2001.
One of the five masked thieves had the Sigmatic. He was enough to pacify the ten-strong contingent of armed security personnel.
Some say the Sigmatic is the unearthed relic of some ascended archetype, an adept’s hand-built charm, or a rediscovered ritual. There are stories leading some to believe there may be three Sigmatics in the world. Every few months one ends in the hands of someone new, someplace new.
It has spread throughout the world and is sought after by those in the know.
It’s only a matter of time before the Sigmatic gets into the grips of some small time player in your local Occult Underground and those mind-crushing dry-clicks start popping.
