The Hunter and the White Deer

Hunter shoots rare albino deer…really rare…

A female hunter shot and killed a rare albino deer as hunting season got kicked off in Minnesota.

Mary Roakoz shot the 6-point buck Saturday after hearing it was in the Avon area. She said she was shaking when she pulled the trigger.

“I though here was my chance of a lifetime. I had to creep a little bit, probably about 40 yards to get to a good place where I could steady myself.”

Roakoz plans to mount the head but isn’t sure if she’ll have room to keep her prize.

For those of you who don’t know much about folklore this is a sure fire way to get yourself killed. White deer are the embodiment or avatar of certain “gods”….then again some people speak of them as witches transformed….

The White Stag is also a big player in Arthurian mythology. It’s a sacred animal only kings and noble knights can see, a male version of the unicorn.

Sounds something like the white buffalo of Dakota myth. Same basid premise of prosperity and good fortune, except with white buffalo if you kill it, you feed the entire tribe. There’s a bit more to it than that, but I don’t have the time/expertise to go into it. Basically, it’s a gift from the gods/spirits

Now what kind of Major charge is she carrying around with her unawares, and how do we steal it off her?
