The Hippie has rejected the 9-5 values that strangle most of America. He categorically rejects corporate America, instead embracing a different life style.

Hippies as a subculture Started in the US in the 1960, but swiftly spread to other countries. Hippies often create their own communities (sometimes referred to as communes), use hallucinogens and marijuana to achieve alter states of consciousness, listen to Psychedelic rock music and embrace the free love associated with the sexual revolution.

While many hippies have been closely associated with political movements the the hippie movement itself is not a political movement but a cultural movement.

A hippie should be open to new forms of consciousness, expression and non-western cultural values. A true hippie will look at the world with a sence of wide eyed child like wonder.

Symbols – flower garlands, tie dye or grateful dead tee-shirts, ecstasy, pot, bongs.

Taboos – “Altimont was a bummer dude.” Violence is anathema to the Hippies, as is joining the 9-5 world and becoming a Suit is right out. “Down with the Man” A hippie cannot wear a suit. .

Channels

1-50% – “I am not the Man”. At root all types of counter-culture are connected,. With a successful Avatar the Hippie check a hippie can tune in to any local counterculture movement. This will help the hippie find them, know about them. The group the hippie finds will be disposed to like and help the hippie (+10% to any applicable skills)

51-70% – “I know what will help us relax”. Years of research has helped the hippie know how to deal with stress. The avatar of the hippie can help pass this knowledge on. With the help of drugs (the man has suppressed all research on the benefits of pot!!!!) you can remove a Hardened or Failed notch from anyone. This process will take four hours, (The person you have helped will still be high at the end of the process.) A person can get help from the hippie at most once a month.

71-90 – “Flower power”. Even in the worst of time a hippie can help talk down a confrontation. A hippie can choose to stop an opponent from acting by talking to them. This will only work so long as no one else attacks that person.

91+ Turn on, tune in, drop out. At this level the hippie has ceased to able to be tacked by the Man. The hippie does not exist on any official agencies records, or electronic media.
