The Yellow Prince

For a reasonable price, He’ll be you.

The Yellow Prince in His Own Words .

I would like to offer you a deal. For a time you will allow me to be you. You need not worry over what I would do, because I will be you. You would only do what you would do.

And why would you take this deal? Because while I am you, you will be nobody. And nobody, while nobody can do anything they want.

Why would I offer you this? Because to know a man, or your case a woman, you must walk a mile in their shoes. And might I say yours are quite nice. And I want to know you. Not your secrets, I have no need for those. Just the things that make up your day to day experience.

And there will of course be a fee. Per diem. In cash.

The Yellow Prince has little concept of who he truly is any more. Is he Jack the reclusive costume maker? Is he Jacque, the street performer? Is he the man in the dirty yellow mask and crown?
Is he one of those who pay the man in the dirty yellow mask, whose lives are sometimes lived by someone else?

YES. Yes, he is all of them and he will be more.

Jack knows that the clothes make the man. So if his actors are to represent the man, they must have the proper clothes. But his true passion is his masks. They don’t represent appearance of his subjects, but their souls. In them he hopes to capture what truly makes these people who they are. He hopes someday to make a mask as magnificent as the one yellow one with the crown.

Jacque knows miming on the street corner doesn’t pay well, but he loves it. And he loves to see the people smile and laugh when he imitates their friends. And loves that it gives him a chance to be a hundred different things in a day. He knows mimes traditionally wear white, but he prefers a yellow costume. It’s easier to keep clean.

The man in the dirty yellow mask and crown has found a way to not only live the lives of others, but to get them to pay him for it. Whether it’s to fool a suspicious wife, indulge a forbidden vice, or something more sinister, an alibi can be an extremely valuable thing.

He cultivates his clients carefully. In clients he looks for two things. First, those who would use his services repeatedly. As most of the cost to him is upfront, so the more he acts as another, the more profitable the exchange. The second, is those whose lives are archetypical in nature. Who by playing, he plays the part of something larger. If he’s lucky, he finds one who, unknowingly, is an Avatar.

Why does he where the yellow mask, crown and cloak when talking to clients? A mix of anonymity and recognizablity. They’ll know it’s him, but they won’t know who he is.

Where did he get the mask?… Where did he get the mask? Where did he get the mask?!

Jacque wakes up, and makes his way to one of his favorite street corners. Who will he be first?

I realize that I wasn’t entirely clear with this, but since I still don’t know how you edit posts.

Jack knows he’s a personomancer. He seeks to discover the soul of humanity to represent them in his masks. But doing so requires resources both mystical and material, so he created two aliases. Jacque who generates minor charges as street performer, and another who earns money and generates significant charges by providing aliases.

Jacque knows he’s a personomancer, and enjoys his work as a street performer allowing him to explore being other people. But he knows that this work doesn’t let him reach the higher end of his craft, so he created the persona of Jack to pursue his magick further. To provide himself the charges and money needed for Jack, he created another persona that wears a yellow mask and provides aliases for a fee.
