An epideromantic martial artist.
Dennis Grant worships strength. He grew up weak and sickly, with a father that mocked him for it. He made it worse by training harder than his body could handle, permanently damaging himself in the process. After graduating high school and moving out, he fell into petty crime and spent some time in jail.
He found Epideromancy in the prison gym. The key for him was to damage the body on purpose, deliberately training in self-destructive ways. Once he started doing that, he started packing on truly ridiculous amounts of muscle.
After serving his time Dennis got into mixed martial arts. His superhumanly tough body and intense training regimen brought him success and a measure of fame, though he was dogged by (false) accusations of steroid use. Now he’s scheduled to fight the champion, Tyrell Johnson.
Dennis doesn’t really understand his magic. He is superstitious, and he’s smart enough to know that his dramatic increase in strength wasn’t really possible through natural means, but he’s never met another adept so he’s not really sure how he does what he does. His grasp of spontaneous magic is very weak, and the only formulas he knows are Regeneration, Relentless Will, The Flesh Is My Servant, and Preternatural Prowess. But if he starts losing against Tyrell, he might well improvise an Epideromantic blast during the fight. Which would be a rather bad thing for the secrecy of the Occult Underground.
