A rather unusual bibliomancer.
Jeremiah was a preacher once. He retired fifteen years ago, but he’s still very very faithful. In fact, his devotion to the Bible is so strong that it’s actually supernatural.
Note that I didn’t say his devotion to God. Jeremiah believes that the Bible, the actual book, is the only part of Christianity that’s really important. Every translation, every edition, reveals a different aspect of God’s will.
So naturally, the sensible thing to do is to gather as many different Bibles as possible and to study them obsessively. He did this back when he worked, but now that he’s retired and socially isolated (most of his friends are dead) he’s got the time to get really into Bibles.
At some point, Jeremiah’s Bible-study turned into a weird fringe variant of Bibliomancy. It’s like normal Bibliomancy, but it only works with bibles and the non-formula spells include some effects reminiscent of holy miracles.
Jeremiah’s not deeply involved in the Occult Underground, but he’s had some run-ins with other occultists. Plus one deeply unpleasant encounter with a nonentity. Occasionally he tries to convert other adepts to Christianity, but this is dangerous and usually futile so he usually sticks to preaching at normal people.
Personality: Old, tired, occasionally scarily intense.
Obsession: (Magick: Bibliomancy) The hidden truths of the bible.
Wound Points: 40
Rage Stimulus: Casual blasphemy (for example: OH MY GAWD!). It’s just such a pointless evil.
Fear Stimulus: (Unnatural) Nonentities. One of them kidnapped him once, and he never got over it.
Noble Stimulus: Spreading the good word. It’s a duty and a pleasure for him.
