It’s a little more complicated than that, but yeah, Nazi Punchers.
In the Fall of 1971, Joshua Covitz (‘Normal’), Denese Kan (Entropomancer), Anisa Mbala (Flying Woman) and Otto Roth (Epideromancer) gathered in a musty basement somewhere in urban England. They came from disparate backgrounds and knew fairly little about each other at the time, but they shared two things: they were all experienced in the Occult Underground, and they had all been targeted for violence and discrimination at some point because of things they were born into, things they couldn’t opt out of and shouldn’t have had to. Denese escaped the Maya massacres in Guatemala. Anisa fled South African apartheid. And Joshua and Otto had to flee Germany during the war or risk getting sent to a concentration camp: Joshua for being Jewish, Otto for being gay. They had each subsequently discovered the world of magick on their own. They each eventually learned about avatars. But it was Covitz, while serving as a gun-for-hire for a duke, who learned about the Warrior. An entire seat in the Invisible Clergy devoted to the same ideological hatred that ruined so many lives on the Earth. So, he contacted the others, convinced them of his views on the situation, and concocted a plan. So on that cold day in 1971, they kidnapped Erik Reagan, avowed Neo-Nazi and Warrior avatar, and Otto tore swastikas into his flesh until he bled out.
Since then, the group’s spread out to a few hundred people across the planet. They’ve dueled aging Nazi dukes in Argentina. They’ve intervened in Darfur and Iraq, for better or worse. They corrupted Warrior rituals in order to use them against their former owners. And, always, they keep an eye on the politics between high-level Warriors, waiting for a chance to intervene. They call themselves The Order of Armistice. Many call them the Branders, particularly their enemies. Everyone else settled on Nazi Punchers.
Goal: The day-to-day operations focus on fighting against all forms of ideological violence. Usually Nazis, neo-nazis, or anyone else taking a page from Hitler’s handbook, but they’re willing to intervene on other issues of bigotry-motivated violence. However, the overarching goal is to constantly, unerringly, sabotage the Warrior archetype by focusing on its least pleasant adherents. At some point, it’ll become so weak that the Order will be able to prop up one of their own candidates to become a godwalker and replace the Warrior, ensuring that the next world won’t have to deal with the genocides of this one.
Assets: You have your brands, powerful weapons against Warriors. You also have a number of adepts and avatars among your ranks, some steady funding from front companies, and a small stockpile of military surplus. But by far, your best asset is your reputation. Not everyone in the Occult Underground agrees with you, and few cabals will outright ally with you, but most generally agree that you’re better than the people you fight against. Sleepers will let you off with a warning if you’re caught making trouble; Maks will discount your burgers and help you hide if the heat’s on. It’s even rumored that Alex Able discreetly donated a few thousand dollars to the Order. You can’t confirm that, but TNI agents have hauled your asses out of the fire once or twice. Don’t expect that to be the norm though.
Liabilities: Where do we start? You’re fighting against Warriors, and not the reasonable ones that fight against literacy or poverty, so they’re dangerous. You’re fighting against Nazis, nuff said. You sometimes fight both at the same time, along with Nazi adepts, which is always fun. You’re vigilantes, so the legal authorities hate you. You’re generally understaffed and over budget. Your day-to-day responsibilities occasionally involve torturing neo-Nazis for information. And while on the job, you have to keep your true identity hidden at all times. Once you get exposed, if the police don’t arrest you for vigilantism, then the current Godwalker of the Warrior will save them the trouble.
Main Figures:
Denese Kan — Founding Member
Nazi-hunting is a dangerous job. Otto died back in the 90s after getting ambushed by two dukes while getting a haircut. Joshua went to the Middle East a few years ago, tracking a rumor about the golem ritual, and hasn’t been seen since. And just a few months ago, Anisa was shot by a sniper in the middle of Chicago. But Denese isn’t quitting the job just yet. That’s a bodybag for you.
Denese didn’t become a bodybag until she got involved in the Underground in Mexico, but she remembers the first time when submerging herself in the chaos of the world made sense. Her mother died, trying to escape after sending her daughter ahead. It wasn’t even the soldiers that got her; she got a scrape falling down a steep incline and it got infected. After that, everything seemed like a big, cruel joke to her. When she first broke through into becoming an entropomancer, she went on a tear, like many new adepts, but eventually, she thought about it and realized that instead of bringing chaos on everyone, she could be bringing it to people who deserve it.
Nowadays, she mostly serves as a mentor, despite her preference for fieldwork. Firstly, her missing arm and the scars tend to slow her down these days. Secondly, while she’s no brain trust, she knows that David and Rebecca, while both intelligent and skilled, lack the leadership and people skills to replace their parents. So she’s more useful keeping an eye on them and keeping an eye out for anyone to fill the gaps.
Personality: Lively and talkative, but with sadness underlying her gallows humor
Obsession: (Magick: Entropomancy) The random nature of cruelty. Something decides who does and doesn’t end up losing their mother to infection and soldiers, and she’s certain it’s a giant die in a giant hand.
Rage Stimulus: Unsympathetic leaders. She loathes those who would casually send men into battle or lay off thousands of workers from the comfort and ignorance of their cushy offices
Fear Stimulus: (Violence) Denese is uncomfortable around guns. She’ll wrestle tigers and jump five stories into a river, but don’t ask her to step in front of a bullet or play Russian Roulette
Noble Stimulus: Denese is particularly concerned about saving victims or potential victims of the Order’s targets. She likes to be in charge of rescue missions, and will, with some hesitation, pass up opportunities for a major charge to get people to safety.

David Roberts – He Who Hacks Monsters
David grew up without his father in a small town in New England, though his mother and him would get the occasional check in the mail. After graduating college with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a minor in European History, David decided that he’d spend a year tracking down his missing father. When he finally found Joshua Covitz, squaring off against an octogenarian Nazi duke in Buenos Aires, something clicked in him. He finally knew what he wanted to do with his life.
David serves as the tech specialist for the group, hacking into websites to find targets and using the internet to leak their personal information once he’s certain he’s got the right person. He’s also the muscle of the inner circle, having learned Krav Maga from his father while on the job. Unlike the founding members (or indeed, most of the members), he recognizes the inherent absurdity of a group hunting Warriors with the same single-minded passion and distaste that Warriors turn against their own targets. He also doesn’t particularly care about it. Nazis are gonna get what coming to them, and that’s all that matters to him. After all, he is a Warrior himself, and what he does is fight bigots, one way or another.
Personality: Calm and methodical
Obsession: (Only Seven Proxies? Pfft, Amateur) They do their planning in the dark, anonymously, behind computer screens. If they want to be terrible people, then everyone’s gonna know exactly how terrible they are.
Rage Stimulus: Ignorance. David spent a lot of time before joining the Order arguing with bigots on the internet, and their weak arguments and biased sources were always a sticking point with him.
Fear Stimulus: (Self) He thinks that ‘becoming what you fight’ is an overplayed, contrived cliche, and he thinks he’s above it. But he worries that he might be wrong.
Noble Stimulus: He believes in the value of honest motives. He knows he’s in this to fuck with people he hates, and he appreciates finding that honesty in anyone else, even people he hates.

David usually carries a combat knife on him. Besides that, he travels light — when he can be torn from his computers, that is. His Avatar skill can be anywhere from 35% to 45% — his cautious nature causes him to occasionally break taboo.
Additionally, David is the only senior member of the Order that does not carry an Abel’s Brand. He does not want to risk getting disarmed and having it used against him.
Rebecca Mbala — Grand Scholar of the Occult
When Anisa got pregnant (if she knew who the father was, she didn’t want to tell anyone), she decided to put the child up for adoption to give her a chance at a normal life. Two years later, someone found out, kidnapped the child, and nearly forced Anisa into betraying the Order to protect her daughter. So, Anisa fell back on Plan B; if she couldn’t give the child a normal life, she’d give her the best chance of surviving an abnormal life. By the time she was 15, Rebecca could tilt, shoot a pistol with decent accuracy, and identify magic artifacts with a glance. By the time her mother was assassinated, she was one of the greatest scholars to ever walk the Underground. However, it came at the cost of any formal education or personal skills. Despite not adopting any magical school, she’s about as comfortable with normal people as a full-blown fleshworker.
Rebecca is one of the few members of the Order more focused on the big picture than the standard Nazi-hunting. She knows that, if they’re ever gonna have a solid chance of bringing down the Warrior, they have to find a way to bring down the current Godwalker, and anyone who tries to take his place besides their own agent. She’s got some ideas, some involving her partner-in-crime David, but she needs either more power or more information, and she needs it before someone decides she should end up like her mother.
Personality: Practical and passionate.
Obsession: (Occult Knowledge) Mastering the only world she knows
Body 50 (Nondescript)
Basic Self-Defense 40% General Athletics 15%, Enduring Torture 15%

Soul 35 (Stunted)
Occult Familiarity (Aura Sight) 35%, Lie 30%, Get Overlooked and Dismissed by Mundanes 30%, Charm 10%
Rage Stimulus: Doubt in her skills. She didn’t spend most of her life studying the Underground to be second-guessed by some asshole.
Fear Stimulus: (Helplessness) Mundanity. She knows that she’s practically useless outside of the occult, and being forced to rely on ‘normal’ skills frightens her.
Noble Stimulus: The Order of Armistice is her family, and she’ll do just about anything to protect it.
Paradigm — By virtue of being neck deep in the Underground from the age of 5, there’s very little that can still surprise her…as long as she has her family around her. Strong against Unnatural, weak against Isolation
Notes: Rebecca has at least one knife on her at any given time. Depending on how much danger she’s expecting, she has 1-20 knives on her (usually in a tactical vest, though she may hide some on her person), and up to two handguns. She will only fight as an absolute last resort, but if she’s going to get into a fight, she intends to win.
Her abysmal Basic Education skill is usually alleviated by her overwhelming Occult Knowledge skill. Since the occult draws so heavily on normal human life, she can often get through conversations on topics as long as she can connect it to the occult. Conversations about history means she relies on cliomancy. Money conversations means she draws on plutomancy. People can go hours or days talking with her before she slips up.

Abel’s Brand
Power: Significant
Effect: When an Abel’s Brand is pressed against an individual’s flesh for a minute, it places a magical mark on the individual that prevents them from acting out of hatred. While marked, if the marked individual takes any actions that target a group they hate, whether it’s violence or hate speech, they gets a 20% negative shift towards any rolls made and can’t flip-flop or reroll them for any reason. It also disrupts the marked’s connection to the Warrior archetype. The marked takes a permanent decrease of 20% to their Avatar: The Warrior skill, if they have one. The effect is cumulative, and multiple brandings will increase the negative shift by 20% each time. However, you cannot brand someone with the same Abel’s Brand twice, and you cannot brand the same person twice in one month.
Description: Early on in the Order’s timeline, Joshua asked Anisa to come up with an alternative solution to killing or maiming their enemies. After a few months of research, she reverse-engineered a solution from an obscure ritual related to the Warrior, drawing from Biblical imagery. Cain is considered by many to be the Ur-Warrior, the first to strike out and kill a man out of hatred. He may even be the one knocking about in the Stratosphere right now. Therefore, the best way to undermine him is to channel his slain brother. Get the upper hand with a shepherd’s tool.
Creating an Abel’s Brand takes about ten days and requires three significant charges. For five of them, a branding iron has to be wrapped in a Jewish burial shroud and soaked in cold lamb’s blood. For the other five days, it must be wrapped in leather and soaked in boiling grape juice. At the end, the maker must wrap the handle with a printed copy of the Cain and Abel story (Genesis 4 or Surah 5, either one will work), spend the charges and make a magick roll. Failure means the process has to be repeated (but you can use the same iron). If it succeeds, the brand becomes warm to the touch and has a number of usages equal to the sum of the die on the magick roll. The brand doesn’t have to be in a particular shape, but many of the ones used by the Order are shaped like swastikas and applied directly to the victim’s forehead. It serves as an additional punishment — surprisingly few people want to talk to someone with a swastika on their forehead.
The Order only has a few Abel’s Brands at any given time, and they are issued as necessary for certain missions and only given to trusted personnel. Anisa was always paranoid about their enemies getting their hands on one and masquerading as them, or worse, figuring out how to undo the brand.
Are they opposed by the Brotherhood of False Equivalence, AKA “The Concern Trolls”? 🙂
Gotta say, this is cool as all get out. Avatar cults are part and parcel of the UA experience, but it’s not often you meet a group that has opposition to an archetype as its raison detre.
